PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which can change the contents of voice guidance for route guidance in accordance with the preferences and senses of individuals. SOLUTION: An intersection voice guidance setting screen 40 is displayed on a display monitor 16. In the intersection voice guidance setting screen 40 intersection simplified diagrams 41a to 41c and guidance message candidates 42a to 42c for an intersection when receiving route guidance are displayed. The intersection simplified diagrams 41a to 41c have typical shapes of intersections and indicate directions entering into and leaving the intersections with arrows. A user refers to the intersection simplified diagrams 41a to 41c, selects the shape of the intersection for which the route guidance is desired to be changed, and selects a guidance message suited for his/her preferences and senses from the guidance message candidates 42a to 42c.
