PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set a clamp type ammeter in a remote position, and to reduce measuring work for a current, by providing an opening and closing tool which is handled independently of the insulation operation rod for holding the clamping type ammeter, and capable of bringing easily a clamp part in to an opened state. SOLUTION: This opening and closing tool 10 for opening and closing the clamp part 110 of the clamp type ammeter 100 for measuring the characteristics of a current flowing in electric wire, by positioning the clamping part so as to surround the periphery of the electric wire, is provided with an opening and closing adaptor 11, provided with a hook part 21a contacting with the inner face of a turning part 112 in the measuring area S side of the clamping part in the ammeter, and a pressing part 21c for pressing an opening and closing part 112b of the turning part, and the insulation operating rod 13 for operating the opening and closing for the clamping part of the clamping type ammeter at a remote location, by operating the opening and closing adapter attached to the tip side via a clip adapter 12.
