<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical diagnostic imaging support apparatus capable of quantitatively indicating the state of a characterizing portion of a subject. <P>SOLUTION: A reading section 11a reads a tomogram of a subject, an extraction section 11b extracts a major psoas muscle area from the tomogram (S1), a calculation section 11c calculates an evaluation value indicating the state of the major psoas muscle based on the characteristic amounts 1-2 of the major psoas muscle (S3), and a display section 11d displays the evaluation value and a result image expressing the major psoas muscle area in different display modes according to the evaluation value (S4). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
