<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and an information processing method capable of easily carrying out adjustment associated with overlapping between a ground tint pattern image and an original image when the ground tint pattern is applied to the original image and printing the resulting image. <P>SOLUTION: The ground tint pattern 5100 is a latent image appearing in the case of copying and not overlapped with the original image. This pattern 5100 is displayed in, e.g. gray. On the other hand, the ground tint pattern 5101 is a latent image appearing in the case of copying and overlapped with the original image. This part is displayed in, e.g. red.
