PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of improving the operability in the case of transferring and recording a video image recorded on a tape medium onto a disk medium and enhancing the accessibility to the video image recorded on the disk medium. SOLUTION: In the case that a video stream transmitted via a transmission line and reproduced from a tape medium is received and recorded on a random accessible recording medium, a file of the video stream is divided into a plurality of files at discontinuous parts of the video stream and the resulting files are stored on the random accessible recording medium, and a playlist for merging a plurality of the stored files later is produced so as to be capable of automatically dividing the video image sequentially recorded on the tape medium thereby facilitating dubbing the sequential video images as individual files on the random accessible disk recording medium with less labor and time.
