PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer used in a flat display device which can reduce the relative luminance variation of a pixel along the spacer, a flat display device incorporating this spacer, and an inspection method of the spacer. SOLUTION: This spacer 140, which is used in a flat display device, is arranged between a cathode panel and an anode panel. The spacer 140 is constructed of a spacer substrate 140A, a first electrode 140B, a second electrode 140C, and an electrode for measuring resistance value 140D of a belt shape. When the resistance value at impressing of a voltage of 1 [kV] between the first electrode and the second electrode is R<SB>12</SB>, and the resistance value at impressing of a voltage of (H<SB>2</SB>/(H<SB>1</SB>+H<SB>2</SB>))×1 [kV], between the second electrode and the electrode for measuring resistance value, is R<SB>23</SB>, 0.95×(H<SB>2</SB>/(H<SB>1</SB>+H<SB>2</SB>))≤R<SB>23</SB>/R<SB>12</SB>≤1.05×(H<SB>2</SB>/(H<SB>1</SB>+H<SB>2</SB>)) is satisfied.
