PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift actuator drive control device for an automatic manual transmission, which positively prevents starting or going backward unintended by a driver, or interlock gear change without adding a new actuator such as a mechanical stopper actuator. SOLUTION: The shift actuator drive control device for the automatic manual transmission is composed to have a 1-R shift fork 42 and a 1-R shift actuator 52 that are common in a reverse gearshift position and a first gearshift position. In such a case, with respect to the 1-R shift actuator 52 that is common in the reverse gearshift position and the first gearshift position, a means having a first actuator solenoid 71 and a second actuator solenoid 72, is provided for allowing operation of the 1-R shift actuator 52 in one direction or another direction only when the first actuator solenoid 71 and the second actuator solenoid 72 are both ON in accordance with a solenoid ON procedure determined by a selected gearshift position when changing from a neutral position to the reverse gearshift position or the first gearshift position.
