PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ziegler-Natta catalyst which exhibits sufficient performances in catalyst activity and catalyst performances such as stereoregularity or polymer particle properties to further improve the various physical properties and various performances ofα-olefin polymers. SOLUTION: This catalyst for polymerizingα-olefins, comprises the following components [i] and [ii]. [i] A solid catalyst component prepared by contacting the following components (I) to (III). (I) A solid component (A) containing titanium, magnesium and a halogen. (II) A vinyl silane compound (B) represented by the general formula (1) [R is a hydrocarbon group, H or a halogen; X is a free radical having lone pair electrons; 1≤(i)≤3; 0≤(j)≤2; 1≤(k)≤3; (i)+(j)+(k)=4].
