PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque converter capable of smoothly inserting an impeller hub without damaging an oil seal and a bush while shortening shaft length of an outer spline of a stator shaft as required in terms of functions. SOLUTION: The cylinder-shaped impeller hub 4 is connected with a pump impeller 1 and an inner circumference protruding part 4a is formed at an inner circumference part of the impeller hub. An outer spline 9a and an outer circumference protruding part 9b for spline insertion with the stator are formed on an outer circumference face at a tip end part of a stator shaft 9 with a shaft directional distance D between them. The oil seal 7 and the bush 8 are interposed between the outer circumference face of the impeller hub 4 and an inner circumference part of the pump housing 5. When inserting the impeller hub 4 into the pump housing 5, the inner circumference protruding part 4a of the impeller hub is guided by the outer spline 9a of the stator shaft and then continuously guided by the outer circumference protruding part 9b and the impeller hub 4 is guided to inside of the oil seal 7 and the bush 8.
