PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilting type gate valve which can provide a sufficient pressing pressure (thrust force) and an excellent sealing property in closing a gate opening part by tilting a valve plate, of which a drive mechanism for tilting the valve plate is simple and small, which requires a small installation space of the driving mechanism, and is small as an entire gate valve. SOLUTION: The valve plate connected to a tip end of a tilting rod moves in a direction close to or separating from the gate opening part by operating a tilting drive part, and tilting a tilting plate and the tilting rod around a tilting shaft part.
