The reinforced blade (130, 330, 430), having a thickness (t) of less than 0.030 inches, is configured to form a sipe (620, 720) in a tread (600, 700) of a tire in the tire vulcanization mold (100, 300, 400). The reinforced blade (130, 330, 430) includes a main segment (135, 335, 435) and a support segment (150, 350, 450A) extending from at least one end portion (145, 352, 445) of the main segment (135, 335, 435) of the reinforced blade (130, 330, 430) and configured to support the at least one end portion (145, 352, 445) of the main segment (135, 335, 435) of the reinforced blade (130, 330, 430) in the mold (100, 300, 400) during vulcanization. |
