<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for sharing a viewing status having a method for optimally providing information shared with other viewers and the method for providing accurate shared informations at a viewer unit, and enabling a character communication without requiring a device such as a special personal computer. <P>SOLUTION: In the system, the viewers at remote places can share information indicating mutual status in contents viewing.
