<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for preventing exhaust fine particulates reserved therein from being drifted up by the flow of exhaust gas in an exhaust pipe, mixed into exhaust gas again, and released to the outside. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device 1 for an internal combustion engine is provided on the midway of the exhaust pipe 2. It comprises a gas flow deflecting means 45 for deflecting the flow of exhaust gas distributing in the exhaust pipe 2 to generate centrifugal force on exhaust fine particulates in the exhaust gas, and a capacity chamber 41 provided on the side wall of the exhaust pipe 2 and opened to the exhaust pipe 2 for trapping the exhaust fine particulates separated from the exhaust gas with the centrifugal force and reserving it. The capacity chamber 41 is provided so that the exhaust fine particulates are mutually joined in abutment with the centrifugal force on the exhaust fine particulates when separated from the flow of the exhaust gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
