PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a broadcasting receiver capable of automatically inputting a specified signal from an external apparatus when there is no broadcasting of a receivable program in the broadcasting receiver. SOLUTION: A non-broadcasting time zone televising no broadcasting program is detected on the basis of a broadcasting information (an EPG data) contained in a broadcasting signal received through an antenna 10 and a tuner 2 in the broadcasting receiver 100 as shown in Fig.1. When a timing at a time when a power supply is brought to an on-state for starting the broadcasting receiver 100 is decided as the detected non-broadcasting time zone in this case; the broadcasting receiver 100 changes over a video reproducer connected to an external-apparatus connecting terminal group 8 (connecting terminals 8a to 8e), and video contents corresponding to a video signal output from the external apparatus such as a DVD player to a state to be able to be televised in a display device 20.
