PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate overall management by sharing file management and object management. SOLUTION: In a video file (VF), a video object (VOB) containing video information is recorded, and the presence of an unrecorded area in which new VOB can be recorded is permitted. Continuous AV addresses are set in the VF, and the management information contains the head address information of the VOB described by the AV address.
