PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve unitary management of main body data or data shared on a wide range network on the basis of an index recorded in a removable medium. SOLUTION: An index file 103 accompanied with a file entry path to another drive is recorded in the removable memory card 102 of a local terminal server 101. When inserting a memory card, index content is synchronously processed. Each file entry of property, thumb nail and each title for copyright management is described in the index file 103. A local terminal server 101 performs access to a hard disk 110 by referring to the property file 103 in which entry information to a still image and moving image file recorded in the hard disk 110 is written.
