PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact electrophotographic apparatus which can output high-quality images over long periods. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic apparatus at least includes: a photoreceptor; a non-contact charging unit proximately located such that a gap between the surface of the photoreceptor and the surface of the charging member is not longer than 100μm; an image exposure unit configured to perform exposure after equal charge to form a latent electrostatic image; a developing unit configured to develop the latent electrostatic image; and a unit for transferring the developed image, wherein the photoreceptor includes an electroconductive substrate, and a a photosensitive layer overlying the electroconductive substrate and at least including a charge generation material and a charge transport material expressed by the general formula 1.
