PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pelletized activated carbon for a canister capable of reducing amount of fuel gases evaporated and emitted into the atmosphere when a vehicle is stopped for a long time, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The pelletized activated carbon is pelletized with adding a binder and water to a powdery or granular activated carbon where the binder includes a cement A and at least one kind of compound B of a bentonite-based compound, a cellulose-based compound, and a polyvinyl alcohol-based compound; and the cement A is 30% by weight or more of the weight ratio of the solids; further including mixing with water C to produce pellets of activated carbon.
