PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a K18 (18-karat gold) gold alloy which is based on silver (Ag) and takes on a green tinge has such extremely soft hardness and strength as to be almost equal to those of pure gold, and almost can not be used as a jewel material when being singly used in a fragile design. SOLUTION: In a gold alloy of K18 (18-karat gold) containing, by wt.%, 19% to 24% silver (Ag), this gold alloy includes 0.5% to 1% zirconium (Zr) and 0.5% to 5% copper (Cu). The gold alloy can be age-hardened while keeping a beautiful color tone referred to as green gold taking on the green tinge, and can be used for the jewel material having extremely adequate castability while improving the hardness and strength.
