PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorptive article for which a space can be formed between the body of a user and an absorption layer when it is worn and a leakage preventing effect in a width direction is high. SOLUTION: The absorptive article 1 is provided with an absorptive main body 10 having the absorption layer 6 including a liquid-holding absorbent 4 and a leakage prevention layer 3 arranged on the skin non-abutting surface side of the absorption layer 6, and an upper surface sheet 5 arranged on the skin abutting surface side of the absorption layer 6. The upper surface sheet 5 is composed of a liquid permeable sheet not to be extended in the width direction, and is joined to the skin abutting surface side of the absorptive main body 19 at a pair of joining parts S respectively positioned more on the outer part in the width direction than both side parts of the absorbent 4.
