<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently heighten the center luminous intensity of the light distribution pattern of a lamp fixture which is formed by a projector type vehicular headlamp while suppressing its uneven light distribution, in the projector type vehicular headlamp. <P>SOLUTION: A projection lens 12 is composed of a lens center part 12A positioned in the vicinity of an optical axis Ax and a lens fringe part 12B surrounding it. A back side focus A in the horizontal cross-section of the lens center part 12A is set at a position displaced frontward from the back side focus F of the projection lens 12. The diffusion region of a lamp fixture is formed by horizontally diffusing light reflected from a reflector 16 by the lens center part 12A to projectively irradiate a comparatively large light source image, and light reflected from the reflector 16 is changed to parallel light to form the high luminous intensity region of the lamp fixture by the lens fringe part 12B to projectively irradiate a comparatively small light source image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
