PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processing apparatus, a document processing method and a document processing program, in which the range specification operation of a character string to be edited is facilitated and to provide a computer readable recording medium in which the document processing program is recorded.

SOLUTION: The document processing apparatus is provided with: a display part 102 for displaying document data; an instruction input part 104 for receiving the input of an instruction from a user; an instruction analysis part 111 for analyzing the contents of the instruction; a character specification part 107 for specifying a specific character from a document being displayed on the display part 102 on the basis of an analytical result from the instruction analysis part 111; and a specification control part 108 for performing control for specifying the range of the character string to be edited. The specification control part 108 includes a change processing part 1083 for changing the range of the character string on the basis of the specified specific character in accordance with range change quantity and a unit changing part 1086 for changing the range changing quantity.
