PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internet facsimile device capable of correctly printing a received electronic mail, even if the mail includes a text data having a specific sequence of normal-width kanas, and urging caution to a transmitting party side. SOLUTION: When internet fax data are received at the internet facsimile device, decoding is started for the data. When a part to be decoded is a text, the part is decoded one byte by one byte, and it is determined whether a normal-width kana control code is discovered or not (steps 101-105). If the normal-width control code is discovered, a normal-width font is assigned to a decoded character when the device comprises a normal-width character font, but a half-size font is assigned to the decoded character when the device does not comprise the normal-width character font, while a warning flag is set to 1 (steps 106-109). Then, when processing for the last part is completed, a warning e-mail nortifying that a forbidden code is used at the fax data is transmitted to a transmission source of the fax data if a warning transmitting flag is 1 (steps 110-114).
