PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a destination designation apparatus that can place an upper limit on the number of destination items designatable at a time so as to disable the designation of destinations in excess of the number of the destination items or so as to stop or disable the transmission when the number of destinations in excess of the number of the destination items thereby decreasing the occurrence of mistransmission due to designation of many destinations, contributes to reduction in the communication cost by preventing transmission of unnecessary destinations, and prevents itself from being a sender of a nuisance facsimile document. SOLUTION: The destination designation apparatus including a destination designation means for designating a plurality of destinations is characterized in to include: a setting means for placing the upper limit on the number of designated destinations; a discrimination means for discriminating whether or not the designated number of destinations exceeds the upper limit of the number of destinations set by the setting means; and a display means for displaying warning in excess of the upper limit of the number of destinations discriminated by the discrimination means and associated with transmission information.
