PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user must be reconnected to the Internet that the user wishes to browse by being disconnected from Internet broadcasting once, by accessing an Internet speed measurement site, and by confirming communication speed when the user tries to confirm the communication speed in a conventional television receiver having an Internet function. SOLUTION: In a television receiver capable of browsing the Internet, when the user starts Internet communication, the communication speed is calculated according to a time from the establishment of connection with a content server connected by TCP/IP to the transfer of data and the disconnection of connection, and the amount of data, thus displaying communication speed information while Internet communication is performed. Further, there is a means for recording the communication speed with time information, thus displaying the list of the communication speed for a fixed period with the time information.
