PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve picture quality by improving uniformity of luminance with places on a large-sized, high-definition display panel. SOLUTION: A display device 10 of the present invention is equipped with the display panel 1 having a plurality of data lines X<SB>1</SB>to X<SB>p</SB>arrayed in a column direction, a plurality of scanning lines Y<SB>1</SB>to Y<SB>q</SB>arrayed in a row direction, a plurality of pixels P<SB>11</SB>to P<SB>pq</SB>formed at intersections of the plurality of data lines X<SB>1</SB>to X<SB>p</SB>and the plurality of scanning lines Y<SB>1</SB>to Y<SB>q</SB>, and a dummy signal line 7 arranged in parallel to the plurality of data lines X<SB>1</SB>to X<SB>p</SB>, a data line driving circuit 2 which drives the plurality of data lines X<SB>1</SB>to X<SB>p</SB>, a scanning line driving circuit 3 which drives the plurality of scanning lines Y<SB>1</SB>to Y<SB>q</SB>, and a dummy signal line driving circuit 9 which drives the dummy signal line 7; and the dummy signal driving circuit 9 outputs a dummy signal HOE to the scanning line driving circuit through the dummy signal line 7 and the scanning line driving circuit 3 drives the plurality of scanning lines Y<SB>1</SB>to Y<SB>q</SB>in response to the dummy signal HOE.
