PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality diagnostic device capable of preventing erroneous diagnosis and capable of diagnosing highly precisely abnormality. SOLUTION: This abnormality diagnostic method for diagnosing the abnormality in a machinery facility including one or a plurality of sliding members has a step for detecting wave motion generated from the machinery facility, a step for calculating a frequency spectrum of the wave motion, the first calculation step for calculating a root mean square of one degree component band of the frequency spectrum or its partial overall, and a root mean square of the whole bands of the frequency spectrum or a normalized value of its overall, the second calculation step for calculating a value acquired by dividing the root mean square of the one degree component band or its partial overall with the normalized value, or a differential value, a step for comparison-collating the divided value or the differential value with a prescribed constant, and a step for diagnosing the abnormality in the machinery facility, based on a result of the comparison-collation.
