<p>The present invention generally relates to vacuum pressure swing adsorption(VPSA) processes and apparatus to recover CO2 having a purity of approximately 90 mole% from streams containing at least CO2 and H2 (e.g., syngas).The feed (24) to the CO2 VPSA (30) unit can be at super ambient pressure. The CO2VPSA unit produces three streams, a H2-enriched stream (32), a H2-depleted stream(34) and a CO2 product stream (36). When the CO2 VPSA unit is installed betweenan SMR/shift reactor (16, 20) and a H2 PSA unit (28), H2 recovery is expected tobe increased by extracting CO2, thereby increasing H2 partial pressure in theH2 PSA feed. The recovered CO2 can be further upgraded, sequestered or used inapplications such as enhanced oil recovery (EOR).</p> |
