The polishing or grinding head (10) for a power tool has a rotationally symmetrical base (11) at least partially made of plastic and with a cylindrical through bore (12) to receive a drive shaft(13). The bore axis corresponds to the rotational axis and the bore has an inner thread for direct screwing onto the power tool shaft. The bore inner thread can have a helical metal reinforcing insert (16).
