The invention relates to a tool for cutting machining (1) with a tool head (3), a tool blade (15) made from the material of the tool head and a tool shaft (4, 7) with a clamping section (4) for housing in a tool support. According to the invention, the application fields of the cutting tool may be extended, whereby the tool head (3) is mounted as a separate piece on the tool shaft (4, 7) and is made in one piece from a hard material with at least one functional layer which includes a super-hard material such as for example, CBN or PCD. A further tool for cutting machining and a method for production of a tool head are also disclosed. |
