PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner that is adaptable for determining whether dust inside a dust collection chamber reaches an upper limit or not. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has an optoelectronic element 22 of an infrared ray sensor 20, which has a light-frequency converter (not illustrated) that converts light intensity received into a signal of a frequency corresponding to the intensity.
