<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge device capable of dealing with a problem of MTU unmatching in applying multicast or flooding processing to a frame, and a control method of the bridge device. <P>SOLUTION: The bridge device receives mutlicast frames from a transmission source terminal by a receiver side network interface, and transmits it to a plurality of transmitter side network interfaces. The bridge device is provided with a means for acquiring a value of a first maximum transfer unit owned by the receiver side network interface, and receiving values of a plurality of second maximum transfer units owned by the plurality of the transmitter side network interfaces; and a means for transmitting an ICMP (internet control message protocol) packet including the minimum value of the maximum transfer unit, if the minimum value of the value of the plurality of second maximum transfer units is smaller than the value of the first maximum transfer unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
