<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus with which encoding efficiency will not deteriorate, even if search area is widened, and hardware and software can be configured as a small scale. <P>SOLUTION: The video signal decoding apparatus, wherein a coding target area is an area where an image is divided into plural areas, a high-order coding target area is an area that comprises the plural coding target areas, and a reference area is an area corresponding to the high-order coding target area in a reference image which is an image that has been encoded in the past, comprises image information reproducing means which reproduces an image from the reference area, by using a first motion vector that shows a global motion from the reference area to a high-order coding area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
