PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress vibration of optical components, even when two deflectors are disposed in one optical box and keep the image quality of image to be high. SOLUTION: The scanning optical apparatus 10 is provided with a semiconductor laser 11, two deflectors 16, which deflect and scan a luminous flux L emitted from the semiconductor laser 11 by using a polygon mirror 15, an fθlens 17 which focuses the luminous flux L, scanned with the deflectors 16 which are disposed in an optical box 19. The scanning optical apparatus 10 is characterized in that a support hole 31 for supporting a journal part 32 of the polygon mirror 15 is formed on the optical box 19 and the journal part 32 of the polygon mirror 15 is abutted against the supporting hole 31 to the wall face 33 in a direction in which the path to the position of an oscillating object becomes longer.
