PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of shortening the time required for capturing an image without enlarging the size, increasing power consumption during drive nor increasing costs, and a control method, a control program, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: A pan/tilt camera 1 comprises: a camera section 11 for capturing a still image; a pan unit 3 and a tilt unit 14, driving motors 2, 8 for driving the pan unit 3 and the tilt unit 14; and an imaging control section 11a for controlling still image capturing by the camera section 11, wherein the driving motors 2, 8 and the imaging control section 11a cooperatively and automatically capture and output the still image. A delay time from the stop of driving the pan unit 3 and the tilt unit 14 by the driving motors 2, 8 till image capturing is made variable in accordance with the shutter speed of the pan/tilt camera 1.
