PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, wherein even when a picture can not be displayed on one display panel, the picture which can not be displayed can also be displayed on the other display panel. SOLUTION: A scanning line driving circuit 152 outputs an output signal d3 showing that when a front picture can not be displayed on a front display panel 151, the scanning line driving circuit is not in normal operation to a detecting circuit 254. A detection circuit 254 monitors the state of a power circuit 251 and outputs a detection signal d4 showing that the display panel 151 is incapable of display to a drawing circuit 252 when receiving the output signal d3 showing that the scanning line driving circuit is not in normal operation while the power source is turned ON. The drawing circuit 252 having received the detection signal d4 outputs a video signal to be displayed on the front display panel 151 to a drawing circuit 242 of a rear display control part 24.
