PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning agent for cleaning a plastic lens on which dirt such as polymer dirt produced by polymerization of a plastic lens raw material monomer outside a mold frame, a monomer residue, an organic matter such as sebum, and resin powder sticks, the cleaning agent for plastic having high cleaning power for any dirt and being removed from the lens by simple rinsing. SOLUTION: A cleaning agent is used for cleaning plastics, which is composed of an aqueous solution, like tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide, containing chaotropic ions of thiocyanic acid, sodium iodide, etc., and having a pH of not less than 10.
