PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a mold for a lens array for producing the lens array comprising an optional number of lens groups at a low cost and in a short time. SOLUTION: A plurality of spheres 12 are packed in a frame 11 to be adjacent to each other to obtain the mold 10 for the lens array in which a molding surface 14 is formed by part of the spheres 12 exposed from the upper part opening of the frame 11. As necessity requires, a filler is packed in the gaps of the spheres 12 to stabilize the positional relationship of the spheres 12. A space regulation member is arranged among the spheres 12, and the distance between the spheres 12 (molding surfaces 14) can be set variably irrespective of the diameter D0 of the sphere 12.
