PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop certainly an electric motor to perform the tilting and telescopic adjustment when a failure has occurred using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: An electric steering device is equipped with a steering mechanism where a steering wheel is installed at the tail, an electric actuator having motors 71 and 81 for adjusting the position of at least either of the tilting and expanding/contracting position of the steering mechanism, motor driving circuits 90A and 90B, and a control part 100 to control the motor driving circuits. The control part 100 is furnished with a switching part 108 to supply and stop the power to the motor driving circuits 90A and 90B, a failure sensing part to sense a failure in the motor driving circuits 90A and 90B, and a failure control part to make on-off control of the switching part 108 when failure in the motor driving circuits is sensed by the failure sensing part.
