PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head rest device capable of positively retaining a head part, preventing loads from a collision of the head part from being applied to a drive part of the head rest and accomplishing weight reduction and miniaturization. SOLUTION: The head rest device 1 is made to a constitution such that it is provided with a fixed base 10; a movable base 20 arranged at a front side of the fixed base 10; a connection part 30 provided with first links 33a, 33b having one end side connected to the movable base 20 and the other end side connected to the fixed base 10 and second links 34a, 34b having one end side connected to the movable base 20 and the other end side connected to the fixed base 10; and relative rotation restriction parts 62a, 62b for restricting relative rotation around a connection shaft 31 of a first link and a second link according to load applied to the movable base 20.
