摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method and device for controlling a suspension for a vehicle for improving riding comfort and operability of the vehicle by controlling a damping characteristic or a spring characteristic of the suspension by taking generation timing of lateral acceleration of a vehicle body and generation timing of roll into consideration. SOLUTION: In this method, estimated lateral acceleration and estimated roll state of roll generated in the vehicle body are calculated by estimated lateral acceleration arithmetic means and estimated roll state arithmetic means (block B1) based on vehicle speed and steering angle. A target roll state is calculated so that the estimated lateral acceleration and a roll angle may have a prescribed relation by a target roll state arithmetic means (block B2). The damping characteristic or the spring characteristic of the suspension is changed to control the state of roll actually generated in the vehicle body based on a deviation of the roll angle in the target roll state and the roll angle in the estimated roll state by roll state control means (blocks B3 to B10).
