PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door lock which can reduce strong sound occurring at the time of opening a door to a possible minimum extent or can eliminate the same. SOLUTION: The door lock is formed of an inverting latch, a latch spring for energizing the inverting latch in a protruding direction, and a latch operating rod for receding together with the inverting latch against a spring force of the latch spring and being formed of a member different from the inverting latch. At the start of opening the door, the inverting latch abuts on an edge of a receiving fitting on a door frame, and recedes against the spring force of the latch spring. Herein the door latch has a damper device for the inverting latch, in a lock box. The damper device is formed of a rack teeth row formed on one side of a rear edge of the latch operating rod, a fixed horizontal shaft arranged in the lock box, a cylindrical rotary member rotatably arranged on the fixed horizontal shaft, for engaging with the rack teeth row, and elastic matter for applying internal resistance to rotation of the cylindrical rotary member.
