PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing phosphor fine particles having a narrow particle diameter distribution and further having a high brightness, and the phosphor fine particles produced by the method. SOLUTION: This method for producing the phosphor comprising a precursor-forming process of forming the precursor of the phosphor by a liquid phase method and a baking process of forming the phosphor by baking the precursor is characterized by passing through at least (i) a process of preparing solution containing constituting metal elements of the phosphor in advance, (ii) a process of preparing suspension containing the precursor particles precipitated from the above solution and having≥0.1 and≤90% transmittance of the suspension for a visible light having 550 nm wave length, (iii) a process of forming fine droplets of the liquid containing the precursor particles and (iv) a process of introducing the droplets of the liquid containing the precursor particles into a thermally decomposing furnace together with carrier gas and heat-treating.
