PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To link a power supply of an AV apparatus in response to a power supply of an external audio apparatus to control ON/OFF of the AV apparatus by a signal from the external audio apparatus, thereby avoiding trouble of ON/OFF of each power supply of each apparatus. SOLUTION: The AV apparatus 0200 is provided, whose power supply is controlled in response to the signal from the external audio apparatus 0210. The AV apparatus 0200 includes: an input terminal 0201 for entering the signal from the external audio apparatus 0210; a signal detection section 0202 for detecting the signal input at the input terminal; a power supply control section 0203 for controlling the power supply in response to results of the detection by the signal detection section; and an AV apparatus power supply section 0204 controlled by the power supply control section. Through the configuration above, the power supply of the AV apparatus is linked with the signal from the external audio apparatus, so that the power supply of the AV apparatus is ON/OFF-controlled thereby avoiding trouble of the ON/OFF of each power supply of each apparatus.
