PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker, capable of accurately detecting the temperature of a cooking material placed on the central bottom of a heating chamber without scanning of an infrared sensor by a driving mechanism, and stopping heating without overheating, even if the cooking material is placed on the bottom peripheral portion of the heating chamber. SOLUTION: The detection field of a plurality of infrared detecting elements 4 is set to be narrow at the bottom central portion of the heating chamber 5 on which the cooking material 6 is placed so as to detect the temperature of the cooking material 6 therein in detail, and the temperature of the cooking material 6 is detected with a wide field also in the bottom peripheral portion of the heating chamber 5. The number of infrared detecting elements 4 viewing the central bottom of the heating chamber 5 is set larger than that of the elements for detecting the peripheral portion.
