PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition containing a rubber material providing an automotive tire having a small rolling resistance and excellent wet skid resistance. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises a modified diene rubber obtained by previously modifying a diene rubber in which a repeating diene unit of≥80% has cis-1,4 structure, and which has 20-80 Mooney viscosity (ML<SB>1+4</SB>, 100°C) and 200,000-1,000,000 weight average molecular weight measured by a gel permeation chromatography, with a silicon compound having an amino group and an alkoxy group so that the Mooney viscosity may increase by≥1 compared to the one before the modification.
