PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve tensile properties and heat aging resistance after vulcanization while preventing or retarding scorch of a rubber composition. SOLUTION: The N-substituted succinimidethio group-containing carboxylic acid salt is represented by general formula (I) (wherein R is a 1-20C organic group selected from an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group and an alkaryl group; X is a 1-20C organic group selected from an alkylene group, a cycloalkylene group, an arylene group, an alkarylene group and a heterocyclic group; X may have a substituent thereon; M is a metal selected from an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal and transition elements of groups IB and IIB of the periodic table; n is an integer of 1 or 2 which equals to absolute value of valency of the metal M).
