Golf training appliance has shoulder guide (1) which is designed to guide the golfer(6)'s shoulders (2) along a shoulder pivot axis (3). It has upper arm guide (4) which guides golfer's upper arm (5) along upper arm pivot axis (7). Upper arm pivot axis penetrates shoulder plane (9) vertically to the shoulder pivot axis. Upper arm pivot axis runs parallel to shoulder turning axis. Method forces at least one part of the golfer's body, preferably shoulders and/or upper arms to move relative to the other. It determines the movement of part of the golfer's body and follows it in a controlled way, whereby the guide for the body moves along a programmed plane and/or axis and/or path.
