<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image processing apparatus for emphasizing a sense of a cube corresponding to a moving picture and a still picture with less sense of fatigue and incongruity. <P>SOLUTION: An image data input reception section 12 receives input of stereoscopic image data comprising images viewed from a plurality of viewpoints by one frame each by each viewpoint. A foreground background separation section 13 separates the stereoscopic image data received from the image data input reception section into foreground stereoscopic image data and background stereoscopic image data. A foreground processing section applies emphasis processing to the foreground stereoscopic image data received from the foreground background separation section 13. A background processing section 15 applies image processing to the background stereoscopic image data received from the foreground background separation section 13.
