METHOD OF DECOMPOSING DIOXINS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of decomposing dioxins capable of decomposing dioxins under a mild condition and with a high decomposition rate.

SOLUTION: The method of decomposing dioxins is characterized by continuous or intermittent application of microwaves to at least one kind of catalyst selected from a carbon crystal compound and a compound carrying metal in a carrier while bringing a mixture liquid with a treated substance including dioxins, a hydrogen donor and an alkaline compound into contact with the catalyst, and heating of the mixture liquid to a temperature at the boiling point of the hydrogen donor or lower.
